The package includes:
CONNECTED unfolds around a shared community crisis: a prolonged drought that threatens water supply, food production and everyday life. With limited resources and no quick external solution, the community must rely on cooperation, creativity and strategic thinking.
Players are divided into small teams, each responsible for a different permaculture zone of a homestead. By analysing their zone, identifying available resources and designing practical responses, teams contribute to a collective survival strategy that supports the wellbeing of the whole system.
What would your community do in a similar situation?
Each team takes responsibility for a specific permaculture zone while remaining aware of the wider system. Although teams focus on their own challenges, every decision influences the collective outcome.
Teams draw Tool and Skill cards to design their responses. Tools are limited and single-use resources, while skills remain with the team and shape their approach throughout the game.
Solutions are built collaboratively. When teams use tools and skills to solve a challenge, these resources are placed in a shared Toolbox, making them available to the whole community.
If resources are insufficient, teams can trade with one another or exchange through the Bank. The game reinforces cooperation over competition — progress is collective.
After designing solutions, players reflect on their process, communication and decisions. The game concludes with shared evaluation and personal reflection, connecting play to real-life learning.
